The 2025 Proton X50 facelift has officially launched in Malaysia with a major convenience upgrade — a factory-installed Touch ’n Go RFID tag on all variants.

This means new owners can enjoy cashless toll payments immediately, with no extra installation needed. Proton confirms this RFID feature will soon be standard across its full lineup.

Under the hood, the facelifted X50 gets a stronger 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 181 PS and 290 Nm, replacing the older three-cylinder unit. It now accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.6 seconds.

Exterior updates include a wider grille, redesigned LED lights, and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the cabin features a bigger 14.6-inch touchscreen and upgraded materials for a more premium feel.

Prices range from RM89,800 to RM113,300, with early-bird rebates of up to RM4,000 still available. Proton reports thousands of bookings since orders opened, and with built-in RFID plus performance and tech upgrades, the facelifted X50 is set to be one of 2025’s most in-demand SUVs.
