Kelantan JPJ tightens checks on thai Roktu vans
Kelantan’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) has increased patrols and inspections targeting Thai “roktu” vans. These are private vans entering the state from Thailand.
JPJ aims to stop unlicensed entry, unsafe vehicles, and other violations. The crackdown intensifies especially during school holidays when road use rises.
Unsafe vans risk lives. Unregistered or poorly maintained vans may have bad brakes, faulty tyres or wrong documentation. JPJ wants drivers to follow laws on licensing, insurance and roadworthiness. This protects both passengers and other road users.
Drivers of Thai vans must ensure all papers are in order: valid license, approved registration, proper insurance. All safety checks must pass.
