KUALA LUMPUR: BJAK Sdn Bhd, Malaysia's premier digital insurance platform, has unveiled its groundbreaking RM150 million Free Road Tax initiative.

This innovative program aims to revolutionize the road tax renewal process while extending the opportunity for all Malaysians to renew their motorcycle and car road tax at no cost. Anticipated to benefit over 6 million individuals nationwide, the initiative promises enhanced convenience and accessibility in meeting road tax obligations.

Expressing enthusiasm for the campaign, BJAK's Vice President of Marketing, Mandy Foong, emphasized, "We are thrilled to extend the offer of free road tax renewal to all Malaysians through this initiative. As a tech-driven entity, we are dedicated to advancing Malaysia's digital transformation, and this endeavor perfectly encapsulates our vision."

she emphasized that the substantial investment is geared towards fostering greater adoption of digital solutions among Malaysians for their road tax renewal. By embracing digitalization, individuals can enjoy the advantages of simplicity, flexibility, and convenience in managing their road tax obligations.

This initiative not only aligns with the government's MyRoadTax digitization endeavors but also complements Malaysia's overarching strategy for digital transformation. BJAK's objective is to minimize the necessity for physical visits to renewal centers, consequently diminishing queues and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

In addition to the complimentary renewal offer, BJAK is actively addressing the financial concerns of vehicle owners by introducing an insurance renewal installment plan. This plan empowers customers to spread their payments over a period of up to 12 months, rendering the process more accessible and manageable for all.

Moreover, the campaign underscores BJAK's dedication to environmental sustainability by reducing reliance on paper-based transactions and physical travel. By contributing to a greener, more sustainable future, this initiative aligns with the national agenda for digitalization. The introduction of a digital road tax system by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), facilitating the sharing of e-LKM (electronic road tax) through the MyJPJ app, further streamlines processes for vehicle owners. This initiative not only simplifies procedures but also aligns with the government's objective of digitalizing RTD services.

Hence, Malaysians are encouraged to seize this opportunity to embrace digital innovation and relish the convenience of online road tax renewal.
