To address this, an additional 268 charging stations became operational in 2024, bringing the total number of EV charging bays to over 2,288. Government Revs Up EV Ambitions

The Malaysian government remains steadfast in its commitment to EVs. The target of establishing 10,000 charging stations by 2025 remains unchanged. However, demonstrating even stronger support for faster charging, the target for Direct Current (DC) fast chargers has been bumped up from 1,000 to 1,500 stations. This focus on rapid charging infrastructure will significantly improve travel convenience for EV drivers.
