Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced that RON95 petrol will be reduced from RM2.05 to RM1.99 per litre starting September 30, 2025.

This price cut will benefit over 16 million Malaysians under the new BUDI MADANI RON95, or BUDI95, targeted subsidy scheme. Non-citizens will pay RM2.60 per litre, ensuring subsidies remain focused on locals.

All Malaysian citizens aged 16 and above with a valid driving licence and functional MyKad chip will automatically qualify. No registration is required, making it easy for motorists to enjoy the cheaper price at the pump. This initiative aims to balance affordability while reducing government subsidy costs.

This price drop could lead to cheaper transport costs and more savings for Malaysian households. Drivers can also take advantage of this opportunity to get a free car valuation or even sell their car if they are upgrading to a more fuel-efficient vehicle.
