Sime Darby Hyundai Integrated Sdn Bhd (SDHI) and Inokom Corporation Sdn Bhd have officially inked an agreement to initiate the mass production of the eagerly awaited updated Santa Fe model. This partnership represents a significant milestone in their joint dedication to fortifying the local automotive industry and providing exceptional value to consumers.

The redesigned Hyundai Santa Fe has undergone a substantial exterior transformation, featuring a sleek and contemporary design. The front of the vehicle showcases a more seamless integration of the headlights with the grille, resulting in a cleaner and more refined appearance. Particularly noteworthy are the daytime-running lights, which now sport a distinctive T-shaped signature, contributing to the model's modern aesthetic.

The front bumper has also been given a fresh look, enhanced with robust satin silver trim that imparts a rugged off-road-ready vibe, bolstering the vehicle's commanding presence. Notably, the facelifted model omits the fog lamps on the lower bumper, streamlining the overall design.

One intriguing aspect of the Santa Fe facelift is the transition to a new platform. The model has shifted from its previous Y7 platform to the cutting-edge N3 architecture, a platform shared with the all-new fifth-generation Santa Fe. This transition has led to slight adjustments in the vehicle's dimensions, making the 2023 facelift model 15mm longer, 10mm wider, and 5mm taller while retaining the same wheelbase.

The adoption of the new N3 platform has also introduced a shift-by-wire system, resulting in a redesigned centre console. The elimination of a mechanical linkage has created additional storage space underneath the console and seamlessly accommodates various control buttons, including a terrain mode selector.

Although the specific powertrain options for the Malaysia market have not been officially confirmed, the new N3 platform offers the potential for eco-friendly alternatives such as hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. It is anticipated that the facelifted model may come with a price increase, aligning with prevailing economic trends.
